Usually the spindle motors do not go bad. In fact, I've never seen a bad one. Double check that you re-installed the lens ribbon cables correctly. I've seen many people put them in backwards. If it barely spins and then stops then the spindle is still good. There is another reason the CDs are not being read.

I had several of these that didn't work and with all the discussion of the broken gear I was anxious to investigate. I came up with one of 8 with a bad gear! I managed to bring 4 back to life just by removing that gear and lubing it up with some wd-40, i'm not kidding! Anyway I had a couple of them acted funny and I couldn't get them to spin but they were making noise so I moved the laser out halfway and restarted the machine. Upon opening the lid right away I could verify the laser sled was returning to center, but it was clicking and wouldn't quit moving toward center so i took apart the limit switch, cleaned it, put it all back together and walla, working cd unit! That was a fun day!!!
First pic is where the switch is located inside the tgcd cd player. I can also provide some pics for those who want to know how to open it, its really easy...
Second pic is of the limit switch taken apart, sorry about the bad quality, I was too close. There is a tiny spring in there so be very very careful! Once apart its fairly obvious what surfaces need to be cleaned, two flats inside the switch and the wipers.

Cela peut venir aussi de la lentille ! si le mot please set disc est à l'ecran

Ca a été le cas mais j'avais mal refixe un truc du coup le moteur ne pouvait plus tourner.

Sinon si un jour j'ai ma lentille qui lâche a-t-on la possibilité d'en acheter ? J'avais cru voir sur internet que l'on pouvait récupérer celui de vieux discman sony?

C'est LE problème de l'IFU, les lasers utilisés sont introuvables, ou alors à des prix astronomiques.

Oui faut les bichonner ces IFU, moi qui pensait qu'en passant sur Duo j'esquiverais les problèmes....

Sur DUO-R et DUO-RX, oui. Pas la première, bien au contraire...

J'en profite pour insister sur un point (hors graissage et pignon), c'est les condensateurs.
moi j'ai changer ceux-là et c'est bénéfique.

C'est que je fais aussi, comme c'est dur de trouver, et que mon stock de lentille est faible.
Je fais de la manière suivante , si cela ne se lance pas je passe à l'étape suivante :
1- pignon
2- condensateurs
3- lentille

j'aurai même mis lentille en 4 en intercalant potentiomètres en 3.

Je touche pas au potentiomètre, car je n'ai pas les valeurs qu'il faut et pas d'oscilloscope.

Bonjour à tous,
problème de cdrom² (interface unit) pour moi aussi ces derniers jours.
J'ai remplacé le fameux pignon car l'original commençait à s'effriter.
Quand j'essaie de lancer un jeu, le cd tourne mais après quelques secondes, le lecteur s'éteint tout seul (la plupart du temps).
Après acharnement (quand il est chaud ?) il arrive que le jeu se lance (essayé avec Rayxanber III et Gradius 2). Mais dès qu'il y a accès disque (passage à la piste suivante), ça bloque, le cd tourne toujours mais il passe pas à l'étape suivante. Ce matin, rebelote, il s'éteint après quelques secondes.
