Hello again,
I was wondering if there is any difference between the "normal" and Taikenban versions of this game. It seems that the packaging is different (a cityscape for the normal one vs. some statues for the Taikenban version) but according to your database, the iso tracks are identical and the audio tracks are the same size (and they seem to sound the same). So is this the same game data just in a different box? It would probably help if I knew what taikenban meant, but google isn't too helpful and I seem to have lost my Japanese-English dictionary...
If anyone here could shed some light on this, I'd be most grateful. (I've checked the French parts of the forum, but as far as I can tell, this info. is not included in any FAQs.)
thanks, as always,
Splendid

Thanks for the info, it's nice to have that confirmed.
And I never would have guessed about Kaze no Densetsu Xanadu, I just assumed the sample disc was a cut-down demo version.
Dispiritingly, I've got another question in the same vein...
Does the same hold for Last Armageddon {BRCD0001-6-0625-R1F} and {BRCD0001-6-0625-R3D}? I can see the third version has differing crcs and TOC, but the first two again look like they are identical. I haven't done a listening test yet, but if anybody can shed any light on these two, that would be great. And is it safe to assume that any two games listed at Necstasy that share identical TOCs and iso crcs are identical CDs, just from different pressings?
Wish I could promise this was the last of my questions, But I've already got a bad feeling about Tokimeki Memorial (luckily it'll take me while to get round to them);)
thanks, guys

Well, this PC Engine malarky is more complicated than I thought, what with all these Taikenban releases and duplocate entries in NECstasy. When I first started getting interested in this stuff, my plan was to buy a few of the better games (ie that I would play) and grab rips of the others. I seem to be getting hung up on buying crappy games I don't even want, however, just to fill out my collection. Is this normal? Anyway, speaking of which... <scuttles off to start another new thread>
